Kalle wanted to put on fake nails this morning. I usually let her put one on with superglue... then she pulls it off within 20 minutes or so. Well, when we couldn't find the super glue today, Kalle was determined. She said, "That's OK mom. I will just spit on it, rub it on the table, and then it will stick to my fingernail." Oh how I love how her little mind works!
Yes, it's true. He just melts my heart. He is such a sweet baby, even when he has me up all night- I just adore him (though I do wish he would sleep!). He slept through this whole photo shoot... and did not protest too loudly when we moved him into positions he didn't like. He's an angel! Although I am obviously biased, I think my sister does amazing work. Thanks Sis!
I love this one, too
How precious?!?!? Straight from heaven This is just funny.
I few months ago, Kalle and I had a talk about dressing modestly. Ever since then she has found it necessary to point out ever person she sees who is not dressing modestly. Luckily she has learned to say it quietly in my ear... and it has been colder so- less skin showing. Well, today Brandt took Kalle with him to stake conference. On their way, they saw a lady walking into church who had a mini skirt of sorts on. Here is how the conversation followed:
Kalle: Daddy, that lady is immodest!
Brandt: Yeah she is.
Kalle: Go home lady and get a new dress!
Brandt told me and I thought it was pretty funny. Though I will say that I did not teach her to say that... she came up with it all on her own!
Here are some pics from the first time Brennen met Kalle, Oakley, and other family!
Kalle can even hold him all by herself!
Oakley was so excited to hold him (but not so excited when others wanted to hold him). He just loved all of the yummy snacks in the hospital!
Grandma Ferrell holding Brennen and jealous Oakley. No idea why we have no pictures with Grandpa Ferrell- he must have been helping with Kalle and Oakley! (Please dont hold Oakley's intersting outfit against him... Not a lot of choices at Granmas house... and I forgot to pack him shorts!)
Meeting Grandma Palmer and Grandpa James!
Aunt Ashley (and doesn't she look gorgeous... had to come to the hospital looking that good and make me look forward to the days when I will look cute again, too!)
Just wanted to let everyone know that our sweet little angel was born on Monday night. Here is some quick info:
Brennen Brandt Palmer April 14, 2008 8:59 pm 7 lbs 7oz 21 in
He is just darling. Kalle and Oakley just adore him (sometimes a little too much!). Last night was our first night home from the hospital. I am so lucky to have the help and support from such a wonderful husband. I don't know what I would do without him. More pics and details to come!
It didn't happen... don't even ask! (Can you tell I am a bit cranky today?) On a happier note, I am having my membranes stripped tomorrow at 8:45 am. I actually cried last time I had this done, but if the baby comes... then it is worth it.
Funny thing that happened to me at church today (I am still laughing!)... A lady I don't even know is walking towards me in the hall. She looks at me, looks at my stomach, starts laughing, and says, "You look like an Hors d'œuvre!" WHAT on earth does THAT mean? She then proceeds to walk right past me without another word.
Here are a few last minute (I hope) pregnant pics of me. I know I look like I am about to pop (actually I have told that quite a few times recently... gotta love it), and I pretty much feel that way too! I have decided that I AM going to go into labor tonight, so look for new baby pics up soon! (The power of positive thinking, right?!?!?!)
Poor Oakley is being smooshed by my belly. He doesn't seem to mind!
PS- Oakley insisted on wearing this ONE sock for about half the day today... what a goofer!
I just thought these pictures were so cute of Kalle and Oakley helping Dad wipe down the banisters. Any time they see one of us working, they want to help, too. I know it probably won't last, but it is great for now!
We had such a fun morning at the zoo today. The weather was perfect, and the animals were pretty lively for once. Kalle loved to be there with her cousins, and Oakley loved the squirrel monkeys and... snacks. I loved the walking up and down hills... anything to help induce labor! (no signs yet though)
Here's the gang: Me, Kalle, Oakley, Aunt Ashley, Cousin Jaxon, Aunt Emily, Cousin Peyton, and Cousin Hailey.
Kalle loves to hold hands with her friends. She was having so much fun holding hands with Hailey.
Kalle taking a break from looking at the prairy dogs to "pose" for a picture. (Right when I said "3" she stuck food in her mouth!)
Just a quick post to say no baby yet... unfortunately. I am getting pretty impatient to be honest. I am having the hardest time sleeping (hence the post at 4am), and I am uncomfortable ALL the time. I don't mean to complain- I know it could be WAY worse. I have tried many at home remedies to go into labor... I guess I should try to be patient (it is way harder than it sounds). I have a doctor's appointment in 5 hours so hopefully that will bring good news (like 6 cm dilated and 100% effaced!- wouldn't that be GREAT!) I am having BILLIONS of contractions. Even sometimes minutes apart for hours, but nothing strong enough. Anyway, I am rambling so I should go back to bed and try to fall asleep.
She meaning our photographer. She is AMAZING!!! Although it was 5:30pm she was still able to get my CRANKY kids to look great in pictures (a pretty much impossible task!). She is an up-and-coming photographer, who I think does professional quality work even though she is somewhat new- she really has an eye for it. She is very inexpensive- she is just starting out and wants a lot of practice. The best part about her- She is my SISTER!!! Who knew such talent could be found in the Ferrell family (although she is a Rogers now!). Anyway, check out these pics of my kids that she took in just a few minutes! Check out more of her stuff at her photo blog http://www.everydaylovephotography.blogspot.com/ . I know I am biased, but c'mon- the pictures speak for themselves:
Oakley just LOVES to spend time with "mampa" Ferrell. He goes crazy everytime he sees him and follows him around wherever he goes. This is lucky considering Grandpa Ferrell has rescued me many times and taken the Kids for the day when I am not feeling well. Kalle and Oakley love to play outside with him, help him in the shop, and especially get donuts with him.
This picture was from the last adventure when Kalle and Oakley went to Home Depot with Grandpa. Grandpa got them KitKats. Oakley really LOVES KitKats!
This pic was just cracking Brandt and I up. It reminds us of how my Dad looks in his pajamas!
